An evening of beautiful music and community
Thanks to generous donors, our event at the historic Rollins College campus is free to attend. Let’s gather together as a community to listen to incredible classical music as well as learn about this special and growing school and its mission to educate children by teaching not what to know, but how to think.
About Our School
Highlands Latin School Orlando began in 2019 and is a sister school to Highlands Latin School in Louisville, Kentucky, an established classical school dedicated to the growth of classical Christian education. Highlands Latin uses Memoria Press’ Classical Core Curriculum which focuses on the rigorous study of Latin, Greek/Roman classics, and great works of literature.
Highlands Latin School Orlando is a growing 501(c)(3) non-profit school serving over 100 students led by Marie Drury, Head of School, and Mary Ann Vernace, Dean of Academics. Its mission is to bring traditional, classical, and faithfully Christian JrK–8 education to the Orlando area community through small class sizes and a community of families who are passionate about educating children in both wisdom and virtue.
Classical
Classical education aims to teach wisdom—how to think—and virtue—what to do—through the learning of classical languages, reading classical texts, and study of the liberal arts.
Christian
Christian education anchors itself to the essentials of the Christian faith, maintaining belief in the goodness of Christian morality and the divine inspiration of the Christian Scriptures.
Traditional
Traditional education takes place in an orderly, teacher-guided classroom with lessons focused on content mastery, recitation, and memorization.
